Renault Clio Safir ECU Immobiliser Problem Decode , Car not starting. If you own a Renault Clio from around 1996 upwards , then it may have a SAFIR ecu made by SAGEM with 1.2 petrol engine.
Common problems on Renaults with SAFIR ecus can be :
- Renault Safir car not starting
- Renault Safir intermittent crank
- Starts then shuts off
- Key symbol flashing
- Immobiliser problems
- Ecu needs replacing

This is a very common problem, we can remove the immobiliser and make the car start. The ecu can be set to a virigin state either ready to code to another vehicle or have the immobilser totally removed making the car free runing.
It is strongly advised to fit an after market immobiliser or alarm system.
These ecu’s are very difficult to work on as they are full of rubber , see photo below. We have the means of working and testing this ecu in our workshop.
All you have to do is remove and send the faulty Renault Safir ECU to us.
All your vehicle settings remain the same aswell as the current mileage, VIN number and othe important settings.
